Mr. Atkins’ experience includes both design and construction, and it spans a broad spectrum of project types. Early in his career, as a contractor, he was Construction Manager Adviser on Discovery ‘76, a solar energy research facility for the University of Texas at Arlington. As an architect, his service experience has ranged from Designer and Draftsman to Project Manager, Construction Contract Administrator, and Principal-in-Charge.
He created and directed the Construction Services Group at HKS Architects that included Lender Representation and Forensic Investigation services in addition to basic architectural Construction Contract Administration. The group consisted primarily of registered architects who assumed lead management responsibilities during the construction phase.
